Drew’s Story
Drew, diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s (YOPD) aged 35, is a loving husband, father of two, musician and an active voice within the YOPD community. As part of our Glitch campaign, we were lucky enough to sit down with Drew and his mother, Lyn, to learn how Drew’s diagnosis impacted not just his life but also that of his family.
His story is raw, emotional but one about the importance of finding community, understanding, and looking for the strength within.

“There are lots of people going through what you’re going through, and it is important not to forget that…without the community, I’d be completely lost.” Drew, diagnosed aged 35
Our Community
Receiving a YOPD diagnosis can be isolating, but it is not something that needs to be faced alone. At Spotlight YOPD, we are a supportive community of people living with YOPD determined to raise awareness and understanding of this not so rare, rare disease.
